Electrical Penetrators

Electrical-PenetratorsHydro Bond electrical penetrators are designed for deep sea applications and are used for passing electrical energy through the pressure boundaries of underwater vehicles and equipment. Several of the designs are Lloyds and DNV type approved and have been specifically designed to withstand both gas and hydrostatic pressure.

HPS Electrical Penetrators pressure blocking is achived by using a hard and though non.conductive insert through which solid conductors are passed. Each individual insert is pre-tested to 150 bar before being wired and assembled into the penetrator housing. Peripheral sealing of the insert is effected by means of viton rubber O-ring seals. A polyetherurethane rubber casing is chemically bonded to both the penetrators metal housing and to the connecting cable. This moulding prevents water entry to the cable cores.

MAX. DEPTH: – 455m.
MIN. INSULATION RESISTANCE: . 100 Megaohm at 1 Kv + twice working woltage.
APPLICATIONS: – Diving bells and diver compression chambers. (Helium gas and hydrostatically tested.)
SPECIAL FEATURES: – Shear notch behind nut form on diving bell penetrators gives pressure blocking integrity even if body is sheared off by accident. MATERIALS: – Aluminium silicon bronze body with polyetherurethane rubber casing. (BS316-S16 st. steel is also available).

MATERIALS: Polyetherurethane casing with BS316-S16 st. steel body. (Alternative: HE30 al.al or al. si bronze)
TEST SPEC. – HTS 130.
MAX. DEPTH: – 2000m.
MIN. INSULATION RESISTANCE: – 100 Megaohm at 500V.
